The Plot of Wings

Wings is a very creative book. It is detailed, emotional, and belongs to the fantasy section. This book follows the adventure of Tamisin’s life throughout both worlds, the world of fey and the human world. First in the story, Tamisin is an average school girl that did not have many friends. Then one night, she was sleeping and her back started to become extremely itchy. So she went to the bathroom to take a look at what was causing the itching. Blue ooze started to seep out of her shoulders. Then suddenly she bent forward and a paper-like object emerged and unfolded. A few minutes later Tamisin noticed that the paper-like objects were wings! Adding to Tamisin’s excitement, she showed her parents and they were astonished. But suddenly Tamisin’s mother blurted out, “Tamisin honey, we love you as our own but the truth is that you were adopted.” As soon as she heard that, Tamisin was amazed and a little bit disappointed.

A few days past and she met a kid named Jak at her school. They became friends and Jak’s plan was working. His plan was to bring Tamisin to the world of fey. Then on one Halloween night, Jak planned a party. The party took place and suddenly Tamisin was forced into the Gate that separated the two worlds from each other. Then, when Tamisin and Jak entered the world of fey, Tamisin was shocked. Jak told her why she was there, what the land was, and not to be scared. So after Tamisin heard this she couldn’t believe it. She and Jak started off to the fairy queen’s kingdom while they both met up with Tobi and some interesting creatures. Tamisin and Jak finally reached the queen’s kingdom after a long walk. Then Tamisin went to the queen to ask many questions. Suddenly the queen blurted out, “Tamisin, you are my daughter. You were born of me!” Soon, Tamisin found out that the fairy queen’s name was Titainia also known as her mother. Tamisin was astonished as she reached the end of the kingdom where Jak was waiting for her. She told him and he looked surprised too!

A few hours past, Jak and Tamisin were preparing for the fairy dance in the ring in the center of the kingdom. But when Tamisin’s turn to dance in the ring happened, Jak was surprisingly not there. After the dance she went looking for him and then a strange looking goblin approached her. The goblin’s name was Lurinda and she explained to Tamisin that she was Jak’s great-aunt and that she will help Tamisin find Jak. So she followed Lurinda and ended up in tunnels where Jak’s grandmother Gammi lived. Lurinda left and Gammi took care of Tamisin. She told her that Lurinda is a goblin that cannot be trusted, and she was up to something.

After this Gammi led Tamisin through the tunnels and to one door. She directed Tamisin to go find Jak in with the Hipporines. After a few minutes of walking down the hall by herself, she finally found Jak in a den, trapped with Hipporines. After quietly getting out of the den, Tamisin and Jak ran down the hall and through doors. Finally they reached a wide room and at the top of the room was a hole. They both climbed through the hole, and to their surprise they entered in the middle of a war between goblins, fairies, and other creatures. The goblins suddenly captured Tamisin and started to run off. The fairies and Jak ran off after them trying to find Tamisin.

After a long time at battle, they finally caught up and found Tamisin. Targin, Jak’s uncle and Titania were mad at each other because Targin had to go under Titania’s rules and he did not like it. So Tamisin made them have a talk about rights, freedom, and rules. Soon, the fairies and the goblins were free and they both stopped fighting because Titania finally gave in and let the goblin creatures have their own rules and freedom. Everything was finally happy and the battle ceased and the world of fey was at freedom. Jak and Tamisin were very happy too, so happy that they fell in love.

Tamisin- Tamisin in the main Character of this story. The whole story revolves around her when she sprouts wings, enters the world of fey, and when she finds out her real mother was the queen of all the land of fey named Titania!

Jak- Jak is also one of the main characters in this story. He is left in the land of fey, even though he is human, he grows up with goblins and is later considered a “Halfling”! Then, with surprise Jak has been sent on a mission to capture Tamisin.

Targin- Targin is a main character in this story called wings. Targin is Jaks uncle that was permanently goblin so when Jak arrived he had a percent of goblin in him. Targin was the creature who sent Jak on his mission to find the girl! He is very important in this story.

Nihlo- Nihlo is the cousin of Jak and the son of Targin. He is mostly put into the vicious category and is not a very good soul. Throughout the book he went trying to hurt or even kill Tamisin and Jak.

Tobi- Tobi is a very important person (well goblin) in this story. He is Jaks best friend and the reporter to Titania and very sloppy and dirty usually. He is a part of the raccoon clan.

Titania- Titania is one of the main characters in this story. She is the Fairy Queen of all the land of the fey and she is Tamisins` real mother. She can control the weather and do more magical spells.

Heather- Heather is very important in Wings. She is Tamisin’s best friend and she was always going to be right with her. Although she does not have any magic in her so she cannot see any of the goblins.

Jeremy- Jeremy is important in this story. He is Jak’s good friend when he comes to the human world. Also when he comes to Jak’s Halloween party he helps with the decorations.

Gammi- Gammi is also very important in this story. She is Jak’s grandmother and helped Tamisin get away from the goblins who were trying to kill her.

Lamia Lou- Lamia Lou is a snake woman that helps Tamisin escape from Nihlo and his army. She also fell in love with Herbert. She is one of Tamisin’s friends!

Herbert- Herbert is a unicorn that first fell in love with Tamisin when she entered the world of fey, but then when he met Lamia Lou he changed his mind about Tamisin and went to Lamia Lou! He is a friend of Tamisn’s!
